Position:    Engineer in Training Internship

FT/PT:    Full-time Permanent

Scope

The Engineer in Training program is used to train entry level engineers for future job opportunities in the company.  The candidate will work through 3 training modules of 3 months each in the engineering, sales and field service areas.

Training Module #1 – Field Service

In this module the EIT will learn how BIOREM systems work and what customer’s value most about our products.  A major focus will be placed in delivering excellence in customer satisfaction.  Specific duties will include:

  • Support field service activities including equipment inspections, startup, troubleshooting.
  • Collect media samples, analyze and  interpret data, generating reports.
  • Perform field equipment modifications.


Training Module #2 – Engineering

In this module the EIT will learn how BIOREM systems are designed and manufactured.  Specific duties will include:

  • Support engineering and manufacturing functions including design calculations,drawings and equipment sourcing.
  • Prepare operating and maintenance manuals.


Training Module # – Sales

In this module the EIT will learn about BIOREM’s customer needs, competitors’ offerings and market position.  Specific duties will include:

  • Provide technical and administrative product information to internal and external customer in support of company products and services.
  • Prepare quotes and proposals to outside sales representatives and/or prospective customers for review by sales manager.
  • Prepare bid specifications, scope of supply and pricing information and CAD drawings for different stages of the bidding process.


Knowledge & Expertise


Requires a university/college degree or equivalent  in chemical or mechanical engineering disciplines.


Critical Skills

  • Extensive computer skills including Windows and Office XP.
  • Extreme attention to detail, superior organizational skills.
  • Able to multitask and work unsupervised for extended periods of time.
  • Able to effectively communicate both in writing and verbally.


Environmental Factors

  • Indoors in normal office environment, frequent computer use at workstation up to four hours at a time. 
  • Frequently work at fast pace with unscheduled interruptions.
  • Familiarity with Confined Space Entry and other safety practices.
  • Frequent outdoors work up to six hours at a time on field service trips.
