The Project

Friskies pet food, a division of Nestle, was in need of a solution to treat 30,000 acfm of foul odors coming from the manufacturing plant

Biorem's Solution 

Biorem installed a 30,000 acfm biofilter system. The in-ground concrete reactor was designed with in-plenum secondary pneumatic system spray humidification as well as surface irrigation. A below grade concrete bunker housing was constructed for the fan.

Cooling of hot exhaust gases was achieved using a condensing economizer and heat recovered from air streams is used to heat the plant during the winter months.

This system has been providing excellent odor removal since its commissioning on January 5, 2000.
